Independence Day Mani!

Hello and happy fourth of July my fellow Americans! Anyone going to see fireworks later? I'm not sure if I'm going, I haven't really been into fireworks lately. Just a bunch of people gathered to see pretty lights with loud booms and then get choked by smoke. I don't like going to crowded places, so fourth of July fireworks=unnecessary social contact.
However, I decided to get a little into the fourth of July spirit with an independence day manicure!
Originally I wasn't even planning on doing a red white and blue manicure because I don't really like those colors together. But I figured I'd have to show my patriotism in some way, so what better way for me than on my nails!
The white base is Kleancolor-White, while the red is Essie-She's Pampered and the blue is Essie-Butler Please. The accent nails are Julep-Michelle with Milani-Diamond Dazzle glitter on top. I used a fan brush to do the red and blue zig zaggy stripes.
There's a piece of rogue copper glitter on my index finger :P
Here's a close up of my accent nails. I tried little fireworks on them with glitter. I wish I had more colors of bar glitter, but I only have gold. The silver glitter I pulled from another polish. Note to self-buy more bar glitter.
It's kind of funny, because my friend was always joking that I should take mini firecrackers and attach them to my nails, and then I could fire them off and have mini fireworks! So these mini firecracker nails are dedicated to her ;)
I also really like this "firecracker" design. I might have to use those in another manicure sometime!
More fireworks on my thumbs yay.
So that's all I have for today! Anyone have fun fourth of July plans? Whatever they are, I hope you enjoy, and I'll see you next time!

Nail Art Spam!

Hey so I found these pictures of some nail art I had done a while ago. This was before I started blogging, but I thought they would be cool to share!
I call these my "stained glass" manicure.
I remember when I first did these I got a ton of compliments and "OMG how did you do that?" They were actually really easy, I just used my ever trusty striping tape to block off sections, then used a dotting tool with different colors! Easy!
I also did these, which I definitely remember seeing from somewhere else first and copying, but i seriously can't remember where. These are supposed to looks like little flower necklaces!

The last pictures I have are of these: which is a manicure I did when my friend told me that my nails "weren't colorful enough" and that I should use "more colors"
I used the fan brush method and three different colors on each nail to do the striping. I also have glitter on my pinky (?).
And please disregard all the blue pen ink on my nails. I always seem to get ink everywhere, and I have no idea how!
That's all for today guys! I'll have some new swatches up later this week, thanks for reading!

Sunday Nail Art-Stripey Zig Zags

Hello everyone! Super anticipated for my math/global finals tomorrow! Ack after tomorrow my school year is practically over. I still have my english final on Tuesday but I'm not really worried about that. But my brain is freaking out over math! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
So to calm myself down today, and procrastinate on studying...I did this!
(I also changed the watermark on my pics. Yay:P)
So these nails were inspired by this shirt my friend was wearing the other day:

The nails and the shirt don't really match, but I just used the shirt for inspiration then translated it as best as I could onto my nails.
I started with basecoat, then 2-3 coats of OPI-My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Only some nails needed a third coat to smooth out.
After the base I used a quick dry top coat, then ate some lunch...then used a fan brush to do the design.
I was originally debating between using a regular striping brush and a fan brush. Well, 4 seconds into using the striping brush, I was like nope and picked up my fan brush. I think striping brushes just hate me. The fan brush was much easier though. It took a couple nails to get used to how to use the fan brush to make my zig zaggy designs, but I got the hang of it.
The colors are:
Light blue: OPI-Can't Find My Czechbook
Navy blue: Butter London-Royal Navy(<3)
Pinkish red: Essie-Saturday Disco Fever
Purple: Essie-Playdate
I used 2 coats of topcoat to get the nails nice and smooth, and done! I really like these nails, they were easy and I think this design is something that I will be doing variations on again in the future:)
So here's a comparison between my nails and the original inspiration:
Overall I really like that pattern and the look on my nails. They're a little more colorful than my usual designs, but I've been trying to use more color and less grays, nudes etc...
Thanks for reading guys! Wish me luck on my math final and I'll see you all later!
